Analysing Mise-en-Scene (The Shining)

1. What items that we see are coloured red ?

Walls, Elevator, Blood.

2. What is the connotations of the colour red here ?

Blood is to show horror and violence , Walls and Elevator to show that the character is surrounded by horror.

    A good first use of your blog Billy. A further use of red which is relevant to this extract is the connotations red has with danger, which suggest that the main character in the clip is in danger, a fact confirmed by her reaction to the situation she finds herself in as shown in her performance.
